(UPDATE) LEBANESE MINISTERS AND AMBASSADORS TOUR BEIRUT AIRPORT

Based on the invitation extended by the Lebanese Minister of Public Works and Transport, Dr. Ali Hamie, to the ambassadors accredited to Lebanon and the media to perform a visit to Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport at 10:30 am today, Monday, in response to the allegations reported in the British newspaper The Telegraph yesterday about the airport, Today, ambassadors of some countries and representatives of other embassies responded to the invitation, arriving at the hall of honor at the airport in the presence of a massive local, international and regional media and in the presence of the Minister of Tourism, Walid Nassar, the Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Dr. Abdullah Bu Habib, the Director General of Civil Aviation, Engineer Fadi El-Hassan, the Commander of the Airport Security Brigadier General Fadi kfoury, the Head of the Customs at the airport, Samer Deia, the Commander of the Internal Security Forces at the airport, General Izzat Al-Khatib,
and senior Lebanese Army officers in the Airport Security, Internal Security Forces and General Security at the airport, and a representative of UNIFIL forces, where they toured the various sections of the airport, starting with the air cargo and goods import centers, and then to the fence around the airport perimeter where they were introduced to the security and customs procedures implemented at Beirut Rafc Hariri International Airport.

At the end, the Ministers of Public Works and Transport, Dr. Ali Hamie, Tourism Walid Nassar, and Information Minister Ziad Makari held a press conference in which they talked about the visit. The Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Alaa Moussa, and the Chargé d’Affairs at the Iraqi Embassy, ??Amin Nasrawi, also spoke about what they saw during their tour inside the airport.
