Caretaker Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Bassam Mawlawi, arrived this afternoon at Sidon Serail, on his first visit to the South Governorate, where he was received by the Commander of the Regional Region in the South of the Internal Security Forces, Brigadier General Bilal Hajjar and other prominent personalities. Al-Mawlawi will hold a meeting with the governors and their mayors, after which he will move on to participate in the opening ceremony of the Maritime Rescue Center in the port of Tyre.

In response to what the Lebanese and French media are circulating about the judicial prosecutions in Paris against the Lebanese ambassador, Rami Adwan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed in a statement its ‘firm keenness to deal responsibly with the issue at hand in a way that preserves the status and reputation of the state and its accredited diplomatic representation in the world, including in the French Republic.” Accordingly, the Ministry decided to ‘send an investigation committee quickly headed by the Secretary-General of the Ministry and the membership of the Director of Inspection to the embassy in Paris to investigate the concerned ambassador and listen to the statements of the embassy staff, including diplomats and administrators. The committee will also meet with the necessary French official authorities to clarify what was circulated about them in the media and the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs was not duly notified through diplomatic channels to act accordingly and legally in order to preserve public interest.”

NEOM and TELFAZ11 have announced a key partnership to create up to nine TV and film productions over the next three years.

The collaboration between NEOM and TELFAZ11 will accelerate the growth of NEOM’s media industries ecosystem, ensuring a rich pipeline of productions, including two feature films and one series currently in development under the new arrangement. Today’s announcement follows a recent drumbeat of high-profile TELFAZ11 successes, including the debut of its latest theatrical feature film ‘Sattar,’ which has become the highest-grossing Saudi film to date.

KSrelief Distributes 75 Food Baskets in State of Gezira, Sudan

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed 75 food baskets yesterday to 549 displaced families in Gezira state, the Republic of Sudan, as part of the Saudi relief air bridge that KSrelief is running to help the Sudanese people, in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The aid attests to Saudi Arabia’s stand by brotherly and friendly countries in crises.

Prosthetic Limbs Center Provided Services to 216 Beneficiaries in Marib in April

The Prosthetic Limbs and Rehabilitation Center project in Marib Governorate provided various medical services in April 2023 to 216 Yemenis who had lost their limbs, with the support of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).

The center has so far helped 728 Yemenis, 73% men and 27% women; displaced persons constituted 81% and residents 19% of the total number of beneficiaries. The prostheses were manufactured and mounted, and 60 patients underwent rehabilitation through physiotherapy; 156 patients were given specialized consultations.

All this is an extension of the humanitarian projects provided by the Kingdom, via KSrelief, to enhance the capabilities of the health sector and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

IAEA Commends Saudi Arabia for Role in Compass Initiative

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has received a certificate of appreciation and gratitude from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for having effectively participated in the Comprehensive Capacity Building Initiative (Compass), a recent and first-of-its-kind IAEA model initiative.

The certificate of merit was handed over by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi to Jalawi bin Nasser Al-Gahtani, Saudi Nuclear and Respiratory Control Authority representative, during a reception at the Saudi permanent delegation headquarters in Vienna.

Compass was initiated in 2020 to help member countries strengthen the effectiveness of their national authorities responsible for safeguarding implementation and their respective system of accounting for and control of nuclear material (SSAC).

Saudi Arabia was among the first six countries, out of 176 member states, who initiated Compass with the aim of reaching greater understanding of the safeguards agreement.

The Saudi Nuclear and Respiratory Control Authority is an independent agency directly related to the prime minister; its aim is to implement the government’s policies to protect the country against the proliferation of nuclear and radiated emissions.

PM sends a telegram of condolences and solidarity to the Indian government over the train collision

Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani sent today, Saturday, a telegram to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which he expressed condolences and solidarity with the friendly Indian people, regarding the painful train collision that took place in the state of Odisha in eastern India, in which hundreds of citizens were killed.

The media office of the Council of Ministers said in a statement, “In the telegram, Al-Sudani offered his sincere condolences on behalf of the Iraqi government and people, wishing patience and solace to the families of the victims, and a speedy recovery for the injured.”
