Riyadh: A historic coastal patrol boat drew visitors to the pavilion of the General Directorate of Border Guard at the Ministry of Interior's Security Oasis exhibition during the 10th edition of the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival. The vessel was the first coastal patrol used to protect the Kingdom's shores more than 72 years ago.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the patrol dates back to 1952 and was then tasked with safeguarding the Kingdom's coastal borders in the western region. It marked the beginning of the border guards' fleet and laid the foundation for its current development, which is supported by advanced technical, mechanical, and military capabilities.
The Ministry of Interior's exhibition includes a shooting range, military displays, folk performances, and interactive services.
