Riyadh: The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) has announced the opening of registration for the third cohort of CST Regulatory Sandbox. This initiative enables participants to test innovative products, solutions, and business models across three primary tracks: Communications, Space, and Technology, utilizing six diverse technologies: Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, Space Technologies, Communications Technologies, and Immersive Tech.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Sandbox aims to create a flexible environment that supports the launch of innovative business models, solutions, and high-quality services. It also supports entrepreneurs and innovators in the Communications, Space, and Technology fields, and enhances the inclusivity of products available in the market. It targets entrepreneurs, investors, and companies in the Communications, Space, and Technology sector.
CST invites all relevant investors, as well as local and international companies, to apply for the third cohort. Applications will be accepted from July 3, 2025, to October 3, 2025, via the following link: (https://new.cst.gov.sa/ar/about/program-and-initiatives/Communications-Space-Technology-Regulatory-Sandbox).
The launch of the third cohort is part of CST's ongoing efforts to enable innovative services that contribute to the growth of the digital economy. Notably, CST had announced the successful completion of eight tech products in the first cohort, and 15 tech products from both local and international companies in the second cohort, representing an 88% increase. Additionally, the number of participants grew by 110%, with a 25% rise in international participation compared to the previous cohort.
This enhances the Regulatory Sandbox's role in creating job opportunities and boosting GDP, as the Kingdom's technology market reached SAR101 billion in 2024.
