Environment Ministry Launches Date Palm Harvesting Initiative in Qassim

Riyadh al-khabra: The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture's office in Riyadh Al-Khabra Governorate, Qassim Region, has launched a date palm harvesting initiative. This launch coincides with the ongoing Al-Khabra and Riyadh Al-Khabra Dates Festival.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative is designed to localize agricultural professions, empower local youth with essential job skills, and preserve the regional farming heritage. Specialized training programs, which combine both theoretical instruction and field practice, provide participants with hands-on experience in modern date harvesting and collection techniques.

By focusing on the development of youth capabilities and the qualification of local cadres, the program supports the sustainability and value chain of the palm and date sector. This initiative aims to enhance the economic and social contributions of the sector across the region.
