Grand Mufti Stresses Importance of Hajj Permit and Health Compliance

Riyadh: Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh, President of the Council of Senior Scholars and the General Presidency for Scholarly Research and Ifta, addressed Muslims wishing to perform Hajj 1446 AH, emphasizing the importance of fully adhering to official instructions, particularly the requirement to obtain an official permit to perform the rituals.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Grand Mufti emphasized that performing Hajj without a permit is a grave religious violation, as it breaches the established system and public interest, warning that disregarding the instructions issued by the relevant Hajj authorities constitutes a clear disobedience to the leadership's orders and contradicts the principles of Sharia.

He added that anyone who performs Hajj without a permit commits a religious sin, as it harms public order and undermines the objectives of Islamic law, which seek to preserve order, prevent chaos, and promote the welfare of humanity.

The Grand Mufti also urged all pilgrims to receive the health vaccinations prescribed by the Ministry of Health, emphasizing that preventing diseases and epidemics is a religious duty and responsibility, especially during a season when Muslims gather from all over the world.

He underscored the importance of full cooperation with security and health authorities and strict adherence to their instructions, warning that neglecting these guidelines could lead to legal consequences and undermine the core purposes of Hajj: worship, security, and safety.

Al Al-Sheikh commended the great efforts of the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, in facilitating the performance of the Hajj rituals and providing all necessary resources to ensure the security and safety of pilgrims.
