KSrelief Provides Emergency Response to Alleviate Flood Impact in Yemen’s Al-Khokha District

Al-khokha: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has undertaken an emergency response initiative to address the damage caused by recent heavy rainfall in Al-Khokha District, located in the Al-Hodeidah Governorate of Yemen. This initiative involves draining accumulated rainwater and filling swamps in the streets and neighborhoods of Al-Khokha.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this emergency intervention is part of the Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation Project in Yemen, which is funded by KSrelief. The project aims to mitigate the adverse effects of flooding and ensure the well-being of the affected communities.

Al-Hodeidah Governor Dr. Al-Hassan Taher commended the prompt response from KSrelief, noting that their intervention significantly contributed to reducing health and environmental risks. The efforts are crucial in protecting residents and displaced persons from potential health hazards.

Dr. Taher emphasized that the emergency measures will help prevent the spread of diseases and epidemics that can be transmitted by insects and mosquitoes due to stagnant water. Such initiatives are part of a broader effort by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through KSrelief, to provide essential services like safe drinking water and healthcare across Yemeni governorates, thereby promoting a healthy and secure environment for the local population.
