Makkah Health Directorate Launches Health Awareness Ambassadors Program Targeting Pilgrim Residences

Makkah: The General Directorate of Health Affairs in Makkah has activated the Health Awareness and Education Ambassadors Program to target pilgrims’ residences in the holy city.

This initiative aims to raise awareness about the risks of heat stress and prevent sunstrokes, distributing health kits that include sun umbrellas, sanitizers, and educational brochures.

The spokesperson for the Makkah Health Directorate, Hamad Faihan, confirmed that the field teams have conducted over 900 visits to pilgrims’ residences, covering various nationalities.

According to the spokesperson, the visits included 115,864 pilgrims from Trkiye and European countries, followed by 98,036 pilgrims from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and South Asia, 68,711 pilgrims from Iran, 52,823 pilgrims from Southeast Asia, 52,823 pilgrims from Arab countries, and 18,453 pilgrims from non-Arab African countries.

The field tours also covered the surrounding Grand Mosque and the central area, targeting over 45,000 pilgrims from various nationalities.
