Middle Eastern Nations Unite in Support of Syrian Sovereignty

Riyadh: Foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain, Turkiye, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Egypt have collectively pledged their support for Syria's sovereignty and stability. Over the last two days, extensive talks were held to affirm a united stance in aiding Syria's government to rebuild the nation on secure and sovereign grounds.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the ministers issued a joint statement emphasizing their steadfast support for Syria's territorial and political integrity. They unanimously rejected any form of foreign involvement in Syria's internal matters. The ministers welcomed a new agreement aimed at resolving the ongoing crisis in As-Suwayda Governorate, underscoring the importance of its execution to preserve Syria's unity, prevent further conflict, and maintain state sovereignty.

The statement also highlighted a commitment from Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa to hold violators accountable for offenses against citizens in As-Suwayda. The ministers expressed their support for initiatives aimed at reinstating peace and legal order throughout Syria, condemning all acts of violence, sectarianism, and incitement.

The ministers collectively denounced Israel's ongoing assaults on Syria, labeling them as clear violations of international law and direct threats to Syria's sovereignty and security. These actions, they asserted, undermine Syria's efforts to rebuild and achieve the aspirations of its people.

The statement further stressed that Syria's security is crucial to regional stability, urging the international community to back Syria's reconstruction. The ministers called upon the Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities by ensuring Israel's withdrawal from Syrian territories and ceasing hostilities against Syria, in accordance with Resolution 2766 and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
