Makkah: The Saudi Arabian Scouts Association has launched 73 specialized volunteer opportunities as part of its public service camps in Makkah, the holy sites, and Madinah for the 1447 AH Hajj season. The initiative aims to strengthen volunteerism and empower youth to serve pilgrims through programs aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 goals for human development and community participation.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the camps' volunteer committee noted that these opportunities target more than 5,000 male and female volunteers across 20 camps. The efforts are expected to generate over 550,000 volunteer hours, developing participants' leadership, organizational, technical, and educational skills.
The range of opportunities includes roles in scout experience management, digital media, safety and risk management, event operations, environmental sustainability, technical support, and quality-of-life initiatives. Programs also focus on preserving surplus food to reduce waste and providing first-aid support services.
The association highlighted that these initiatives are designed to promote leadership, national responsibility, and humanitarian values, while also enhancing services for pilgrims.
