Medina: The Imam and Preacher of the Prophet's Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdul-Bari bin Awadh al-Thubaiti, delivered a powerful Friday sermon urging worshippers to persist in performing good deeds, including acts of obedience, worship, and kindness to others. He emphasized that no act of goodness is too small or insignificant, as God's rewards for those who do good are never wasted.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Sheikh Dr. Abdul-Bari Al-Thubaiti began his sermon by advising worshippers to fear Allah, which he described as the foundation of all goodness and the key to success. He highlighted that righteous deeds are the believer's provisions and a sign of Allah's pleasure, signifying that those who love such acts have tasted the sweetness of faith and will experience tranquility. Citing a verse from the Quran, he reminded the congregation that Allah promises a good life to those who do righteousness, regardless of gender.

Sheikh Al-Thubaiti elaborated on the broad scope of good deeds, which includes both outward and inward acts of obedience, individual and collective. He listed examples such as prayer, zakat, fasting, Hajj, reciting the Qur'an, and acts of kindness like being good to parents, maintaining kinship ties, helping the needy, and sponsoring orphans. He recalled prophetic teachings that even small acts, like offering half a date in charity, can protect one from the Fire.

He further explained that the benefits of righteous deeds are not limited to the afterlife; they also manifest in this world. Allah, he said, grants peace and tranquility to those who perform such deeds, blesses their livelihood, and relieves them of worldly worries. Sheikh Al-Thubaiti noted that steadfastness in good deeds until death is a great victory, as deeds are judged by their outcomes, urging worshippers not to abandon their good practices.

The sermon highlighted that the impact of a righteous deed continues even after the doer's death, through a praying child, a mosque built, or knowledge shared. Sheikh Al-Thubaiti emphasized that Allah records all deeds, no matter how small, and encouraged people to seize every opportunity for good, as Allah rewards those who do good.

Concluding his sermon, Sheikh Abdul-Bari Al-Thubaiti prayed for the safety and well-being of pilgrims at the Sacred House, and for the security of Muslim lands. He also invoked Allah's assistance for the people of Palestine, asking for their relief from hardship and oppression, and for the restoration of their rights and dignity.
