Al-Baha Highlights Growth in Coffee Cultivation on International Coffee Day

Al-Baha:In conjunction with International Coffee Day, celebrated annually on October 1, the Al-Baha Region is drawing attention to its significant role in Saudi coffee cultivation. The area boasts over 450 coffee farms and more than 115,000 trees, producing a variety of Saudi coffee types across its mountainous terrain.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Fahd Al-Zahrani, Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture branch in Al-Baha Region, stated that efforts to advance the local coffee sector include the creation of five specialized agricultural hubs dedicated to coffee cultivation.

Al-Zahrani also highlighted that over 600,000 coffee seedlings have been planted in the governorates of Al-Baha. This expansion signifies ongoing efforts to capitalize on the region's advantages in coffee production.

In terms of processing, Al-Zahrani mentioned that a coffee processing plant is currently under construction with an investment exceeding SAR16 million. This facility is a crucial part of the strategy to support the development and growth of the coffee sector in Al-Baha.
